Benjamin Walley, principal pianist for Opera on the Vine, studied music at Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in Piano Performance in August 2014, where he studied with acclaimed pianist Dr. Irene Peery-Fox. Benjamin frequently accompanies choirs and vocal soloists in concerts and vocal competitions such as NATS and Solo & Ensemble Competitions.
He was born and raised in a very musical family in Richland, Washington. He studied piano with Bill McKay, Patti Robertson, and Dr. Leonard Richter, and participated in recitals, competitions, and various performances in the community and surrounding areas.
Singers praise Benjamin Walley for his command of all styles of music and opera, his expressiveness, and attention to ensemble and balance between the singer and pianist. He doesn’t merely “accompany”—he adds another voice to the singer.
